The dryer cylinder is a critical component in any paper machine, directly affecting drying efficiency, sheet quality, and operational reliability. Our newly developed dryer cylinder series is specifically designed for high-grade cultural paper machines operating at speeds up to 400 m/min (dynamic balance up to 500 m/min). With 26 units per set (cylinders #1–#3 and #18 hard chrome plated, 0.1–0.12 mm coating), this dryer cylinder configuration ensures uniform drying and excellent runnability.
Advanced Features of This Dryer Cylinder
Superior Surface Quality – The dryer cylinder shell is machined to a roughness ≤0.4 μm, providing a smooth contact surface that minimizes sheet marking and improves heat transfer.
Robust Materials & Construction – Both shell and heads are made of high‑strength HT300 (minimum hardness HB 220). The shaft is QT500‑7 ductile iron, annealed to relieve residual stress, and features a 1:12 taper ground together with the bearing for precise fit. A hydraulic dismounting oil hole simplifies bearing replacement.
Optimized Internal Design – Each dryer cylinder is equipped with stainless steel turbulator bars (spoiler bars) mounted on the inner wall to enhance condensate removal and heat transfer efficiency. A stationary siphon and a rotating steam joint (Wuxi Johnson type, with metal hose 450–500 mm) ensure reliable condensate extraction. Upper row cylinders have split sight glasses; lower row cylinders have integrated sight glasses.
High‑Performance Bearings – Operation side: SKF 23144CAK/W33/C4; Drive side: SKF 23148CAK/W33/C4. Both are mounted in HT250 housings with circulating oil lubrication, ensuring long life under continuous high‑temperature operation.
Threading Rope Sheave – One dryer cylinder after the size press is fitted with a disengageable rope sheave made of cast aluminum alloy, mounted on the bearing housing with a double‑row bearing – making tail threading safe and convenient.
Pressure Vessel Compliance – Every dryer cylinder is manufactured under strict pressure vessel regulations. Before delivery, each cylinder undergoes a 1.0 MPa hydraulic test and is inspected by an authorized third‑party. A quality certificate, as‑built drawing, and final inspection report accompany every unit.
