Paper Mill Machine Pressure Screen Power-on Precautions

The performance of Pressure Screen is defined by several critical operating parameters that ensure its efficiency and longevity. A well-calibrated Pressure Screen must maintain an inlet stock pressure between 0.1 and 0.25 MPa. The core of its operation relies on maintaining a precise operating pressure differential, typically between 0.01 and 0.03 MPa, across the screen cylinder.

Furthermore, the reject rate for tailings is generally controlled at 6% to 15% of the total inlet flow. For reliable operation, the mechanical seal water system is crucial; its pressure must be set at least 0.1 MPa higher than the inlet stock pressure, with a controlled flow rate of 1 to 3 liters per minute to protect the Pressure Screen’s internal components.

Should the screen cylinder become clogged—indicated by a rise in the drive motor’s current and a drop in accept line pressure—a systematic back-flushing procedure should be followed:

1. Fully open the reject valve and increase the dilution water valve opening.

2. Close the feed valve and the good pulp valve, open the cleaning pipe valve on the good pulp pipe, and backflush with clean water.

3. If rinsing proves ineffective, the pressure screen must be stopped, the top cover opened, and the screen drum rinsed with high-pressure water.
