Durable Breast Roll for Kraft Paper Lines
This breast roll measures φ800 mm in diameter with a face length of 5850 mm. The shell is fabricated from Q235 steel plate, rolled and welded to a finished wall thickness of 28 mm. Shafts are 45# steel, heat-treated and machined with a 1:12 taper, plus hydraulic oil holes for bearing dismounting. The roll covering is available in grey diamond or ceramic spray – both highly resistant to wear and corrosion. Grease lubrication is standard. The roll is dynamically balanced to grade G1.6, ensuring smooth rotation even at high machine speeds.
For kraft paper machines running recycled furnish or high-ash fillers, the breast roll covering should be ceramic spray to resist abrasive particles. The 1:12 taper shaft design with hydraulic dismounting is strongly recommended because it cuts bearing change time by half compared to straight shafts. Verify that the finished wall thickness is uniform (28 mm) to avoid deflection. Also, request the dynamic balance certificate to confirm G1.6 compliance, as lower grades can cause fabric wear and poor sheet profile.
