Safe Operation & Maintenance Guide for Leizhan Electro-Hydraulic Grapple

A well‑designed grapple must be operated and maintained correctly to achieve its full service life. Our electro-hydraulic multi-petal grapple is no exception. To help users maximize uptime and avoid accidents, we provide clear safety and start‑up instructions.

Before initial use:

Verify crane safe working load and secure connection of shackles and wire ropes.

Check hydraulic oil level and inspect hoses, fittings, and cylinder bolts for tightness.

Run the hydraulic pump to circulate oil and allow filters to capture any impurities.

Perform no‑load test to ensure smooth opening/closing of all petals.

During operation:

Avoid slamming the grapple onto cargo, ground, or vessel structures – protect the cylinders.

Do not exceed the rated material density.

Keep the grapple horizontal for maximum fill and lift slightly while closing to ease penetration.

If closure is blocked, reopen and clear non‑target objects.

Never allow personnel under a working grapple.

Do not submerge the grapple for long periods.

Routine checks:

Monitor hydraulic oil temperature (keep between -5°C and +65°C).

Working pressure ≤14 MPa.

Replace any damaged hose, worn pin, or deformed shackle immediately.
